Plain Steel Strings


Handmade plain steel strings  

When placing your order, you will also need to send us an email with the following information or use the convenient form at the bottom of this page:
1) The scale length of your guitar
2) The tail piece and bridge set up: Does the guitar load the strings in from the back
    or does it have a top loading bridge?
3) The distance from the nut to the tuner you will use for the A4 or B4 string
4) Does the headstock have a string tree?

You can email this information to us once you have placed your order.  Contact us!
 
If we do not receive the above information within 3 business days
from the time you place your order, your order will not be completed
and your payment will be refunded.
 
30" scale plain steel strings available though special order.
 
The Octave4Plus™ .006 strings made for the 25.5"-27" will tune up to A4 right away.
The .006 will tune right up to A4 on guitars with scale lengths to 29" providing the guitar has a top loading bridge,
and the tuner is 1-1/2" from the nut. If the string is forced to angle down to the tuner from the nut, tuning to A4
may require more time. Through the body back loading guitars will require more time for the string to stretch.
 
 
All scale lengths represent the maximum scale length for each string. If your guitar has a 25.5" scale length,
select the 26" scale length. If your guitar has a 28.6" scale length, select a 29" scale string.
If your guitar has a 30.25" scale length, a 30" scale string will NOT work.

 
Strings also available without ball ends for Floyd Rose System. Specify when ordering.
 
All strings are handmade when you order. Please allow 2 to 6 weeks turnaround.

When ordering, include the scale length of your guitar and indicate if it has a back-loading bridge
with a string tree on the headstock or if it has a top loading bridge.

Even if you have given us your custom string specifications in an email, the strings will not be made unless all of the order specifications are on this form. This includes custom gauges and the intended tuning of the string or string set.
